[Important Notice] Implementation of the Virtual Asset Travel Rule

Dear MAX Users,

On August 4, 2026, the Financial Supervisory Commission R.O.C. (Taiwan) announced a phased implementation plan for the Virtual Asset Travel Rule. The first phase is expected to take effect in October 2026 and will apply to virtual asset transfers between virtual asset service providers in Taiwan. The second phase is expected to be implemented by the end of 2027, further extending the scope to transfers between domestic and overseas virtual asset service providers.

Following the implementation of the Travel Rule, when users deposit or withdraw virtual assets, the platform will obtain, transmit, and verify the necessary information regarding the sender and recipient in accordance with applicable requirements. For transfers exceeding NT$30,000 in value, additional information will be obtained and verified based on the identity type of the sender and recipient.

MAX will continue to develop the relevant systems and adjust its operational procedures in accordance with the requirements and implementation schedule established by the competent authority. We will also coordinate with the Taiwan Virtual Asset Service Provider Association to facilitate technical integration among domestic service providers.

All platform services and operating procedures currently remain unchanged. Further details, including the actual launch date, applicable scope, required information, and operating procedures, will be announced once confirmed.
